Mass intentions

You can ask us to celebrate a Mass for a private intention.

« All the good works ever done do not equal in value the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, because they are the works of men, and the Mass is the work of God ». (St Jean Vianney, Curé d’Ars)
There is no price for a Mass but an offering (“stipend”) is usually given to the priest who says it.

Une seule Messe glorifie plus Dieu que ne le ferait le martyre de tous les hommes This offering is given to support the priest in his daily needs. It is also the symbol of the sacrifice which the faithful unite to that of Christ at the offertory.

Offerings (“stipends”)

- For a Mass, the offering/stipend is from : 16 €
- For a Novena, the offering/stipend is from : 160 €
- For Thirty Days’ Masses (for a deceased person), the offering/stipend is from : 525 €

Each Bishop in France fixes the amount for mass-stipends in his diocese. This is not to be seen as a ‘fixed price’ but rather as a suggestion which each Christian can adapt to his own situation. No one should be refused a Mass for his intentions on the grounds of lack of funds.
